Endocrine
The endocrine system, or hormone system, regulates much of our daily living. It is made up of glands throughout the body and the hormones that these glands produce. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency focuses on the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, ovary, and testicular hormones and has devised The Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program (EDSP) to study the effects of hormone mimicers on these areas of human health.
The 2010 EPA EDSP report stated, “Disruption of the endocrine system can occur in various ways. Some chemicals mimic a natural hormone, fooling the body into over-responding to the stimulus, or responding at inappropriate times. Other endocrine disrupting chemicals block the effects of a hormone from certain receptors. Still others directly stimulate or inhibit the endocrine system and cause overproduction or underproduction of hormones. Certain drugs are used to intentionally cause some of these effects, such as birth control pills… A variety of chemicals have been found to disrupt the endocrine system of animals in laboratory studies, and there is strong evidence that chemical exposure has been associated with adverse developmental and reproductive effects on fish and wildlife in particular locations.”
Alongside the nervous system, the hormone system is responsible for much of the communication between our organs. A hormone system that is running optimally shows itself in proper digestion and blood sugar control, blood pressure maintenance and adequate urinary output, refreshing sleep and good energy, relaxation and feelings of connection, healthy sexual vigor and reproductive health, repair of damaged tissue, weight management, and temperature regulation. Many people in developed countries have trouble in these areas.
You can take measures to protect yourself from some of these chemicals. Dr. White will show you how. Dr. White’s treatment also focuses on repairing these communication channels.
